VISION THROUGH SOUND

Hi. My name’s Gavin Swift. I’m a composer based in London, England.

Originally trained as an actor, I spent most of my twenties working in theatre & film, with sporadic work as musical director, composer, or session musician.

At the tender age of twenty-nine, I undertook my Masters in Composition at the University of Bristol, where I studied orchestration & composition with John Pickard, and film scoring with Will Goodchild & Martin Kiszko. I graduated with Distinction, and since then have scored a variety of projects including features, shorts, & adverts.

I believe that having worked as a cog in the storytelling machine for such a long time gives me a unique perspective when scoring narrative work, ever in service of the plot and the project.
